Various Musical Acts to Perform in Lunchtime Entertainment Series at SCC

FALL 2011 LUNCHTIME ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE:

11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday-Thursday, Sept. 7-8, on the Campus Plaza: Rachel Brown. Brown’s music fuses pop, Caribbean, Hawaiian, country and other worldly sounds into a captivating groove. In solo recordings, with her guitar or ukulele, Brown’s unique voice combines sweetness, sultriness and vulnerability to enchant the listener. Noon Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the SCC Café/Bookstore: Diego Val. Born in Peru and growing up with a guitar in his hands, Val is a true artist. Noon Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the Plaza Bistro: Preston Pugmire. Beats, guitars, bass, vocals – all generated by just one guy, Preston Pugmire. Electronic floor pedals allow Pugmire to record anything he plays live, and then layer multiple sounds on top of it, creating an entire song from scratch. Noon Monday, Nov. 7, in the SCC Café/Bookstore: Kyshona Armstrong. Armstrong has armed herself with guitar and bags to play anywhere. 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Plaza Bistro: Darrelle London. Audiences across North America have been captivated by London’s playful tunes, disarmingly sweet voice and “tell-it-like-it-is” lyrics.
