SCC to Hold Open Auditions for "See How They Run"

Published: 07/26/2010

The play is a fast-paced British farce that takes place in a small English village during WWII and revolves around a series of mistaken identities that include a drunken spinster, an escaped prisoner, an American actress, an American G.I., a Bishop and too many clergy to keep straight.

Director Pamela Cilek will hold open auditions at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, and at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, in the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building Theater on the SCC campus in Cottleville. Callbacks are by invitation only and will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25.

Center Stage Theatre invites SCC students and community residents to audition. The cast consists of three women and six men. There are no children roles. Auditions will include a cold reading from the script. Prepared one-minute comedy monologues are welcome, but not required.

Those cast must have Monday-Friday evenings free, as well as Sunday afternoons. A script is on reserve in the library.

“See How They Run” will be performed in the theater of the Fine Arts Building at 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Sept. 29-
Oct. 2, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3.
