Published: 07/20/2009

The third part of a trilogy based on Simon’s own life, this comedy/drama follows two brothers, Eugene and Stanley, on their road to success. The brothers are aspiring comedy writers looking to land their first big gig.  But just as they find potential success, they are also forced to make some big decisions about moving away from members of their family who have fallen into troubling situations.

Director Pam Cilek will hold open auditions at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, and at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, in the theater of the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building on the SCC campus in Cottleville.  Callbacks will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19.

Center Stage Theatre invites SCC students and community residents to audition.  There are roles available for four men and two women. One minute comedy monologues are welcome, but not required.  A copy of the script is on reserve at the college’s library.

Those auditioning must be available from 6-10:30 p.m. Monday-Friday evenings for rehearsal, with some additional weekend rehearsals.  The first rehearsal is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 21.

“Broadway Bound” will be performed in the theater of the Fine Arts Building at 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Sept. 30-Oct. 3, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.
