St. Charles Community College is seeking a part-time Bookstore Clerk position (19 hours per week or less). This position provides customer and student service mainly at the P.O.S. cash register. Performs sales transactions, reconcile reports, banking aspects, retail aspects, and other clerical duties as assigned.

Other duties:

  • Cleans retail shelving, stocks and sets up shelves and restocks merchandise.
  • Keeps the area clean and free of clutter. This can include but is not limited to cleaning of tables and fixtures.
  • Assists  with purchase orders, entering data, reconciling and maintaining reports and other back office, retail tasks as assigned.
  • Performs inventory counts of bookstore merchandise.
  • Operates cash register.
  • Assists with store opening and closing procedures.
  • Backup for Bookstore Clerk (warehouse/texts).


High school diploma or equivalent or one year from college or technical school.  At least one month of related experience and/or training.
