SCC Student Senate Will Present “Rocky Horror Picture Show” at Legacy Park May 13

April 29, 2011

St. Charles Community College Student Senate is partnering with the City of Cottleville to present “Rocky Horror Picture Show” in Legacy Park in Cottleville at 8 p.m. Friday, May 13.

“Student Senate wanted to do something different and reach out more to the community,” said Alec Kelley, Student Senate president. “So when our Student Senate advisor, Scott Anderson, who is also the Cottleville Deputy Chief of Police, approached me about hosting a movie night in Cottleville’s newest park, we thought this would be a great opportunity to bring SCC and the local community together for a fun and exciting event.”

The gates will open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. No outside food or drinks will be allowed. SCC Student Ambassadors will have pizza for sale, and the SCC S.A.G.E. group (Straights and Gays for Equality) will sell beverages and candy. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.

Guests are also invited to dress up as their favorite Rocky Horror characters. The three best-dressed participants will be selected by Student Senate to receive a prize.

Tickets are $7 general admission and $5 with SCC ID (including faculty, staff and students). Tickets are on sale in the Students Activities Office in Room 102 of the College Center on the SCC campus, as well as at the Cottleville Police Department business office, located at 5377 Highway N. Tickets can also be purchased at the door the night of the show. All proceeds will go toward SCC Student Senate.

The film is rated R, so this show is recommended for ages 17 and older only, unless accompanied by an adult.
