AFRICAN AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIP - FULL TIME
(Sponsored by the African American Faculty and Staff Association of St. Charles County)

Number of Potential Recipients:
One per year.

Value:
$500. ($250 each for fall and spring semesters). Funds are awarded to student's account and will be applied toward tuition, fees, and/or books.

Criteria:

  • African American previously enrolled at St. Charles Community College.
  • Enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at St. Charles Community College.
  • Cumulative 2.50 GPA.

Required Documents:

  • Completed application.
  • Official St. Charles Community College transcript.
  • One essay (see application).
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Copy of Student Aid Report (SAR) from Free Application for Financial Student Aid (FAFSA).

Renewing Criteria:

A one-year grant of $300.

Criteria:

  • Completing a two-year program at a community college.
  • Planning to complete a four-year degree in the next two years.
  • Cumulative 3.00 or higher GPA.
  • Evidence of leadership.

DISPLACED HOMEMAKERS SCHOLARSHIP

Number of Potential Recipients:
Approximately six per year (determined by a detailed ranking system).

Value:
Tuition waiver.

Criteria:

  • Missouri/United States citizen.
  • Enrolled in a vocational program.
  • Divorced, separated, widowed, or have a disabled spouse.
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at St. Charles Community College.
  • Have unmet financial need.
  • Do not have a current scholarship or other aid that is paying specifically for tuition.

Required Documents:

  • Copy of most recent tax return or documentation of completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Renewing Criteria:
Scholarship is renewable, but most of this award is applied to the fall semester and remaining funds (if any) are applied to the spring semester.

STUDENT SENATE PRESIDENT SCHOLARSHIP
(Sponsored by Student Activities Fee)

Number of Potential Recipients:
One per year.

Value:
In-district or in-service area tuition and fees for one academic year (fall and spring) or required textbooks fees for one academic year (if the student has other academic scholarships).

The following special fees are not included: private music lessons; nursing, OTA and health information for malpractice insurance; RN certification courses and clinical; LPN assessment testing; nursing assessment testing; scuba course; and telecourse fees. Any additional tuition (for example, if the student lives out of the district) would be paid by the recipient.

Criteria:

  • President of Student Senate (requires eight office hours per week in addition to Student Senate).
  • Cumulative 2.75 GPA of at time of election.
  • Completed at least 9 credit hours at St. Charles Community College.
  • Enrolled in at least 9 credit hours at St. Charles Community College.
  • Member of Student Senate for at least one previous year.

Requirement:
Run in Student Senate election in April. Notify Student Senate/Student Activities Coordinator of intent to run by March 1.

Renewing Criteria:
To renew scholarship for the next continuous semester, recipient must continue to meet criteria.
