Transfer Services

What Services Are Provided at SCC to Help Transfer Students?

Academic Advising
Transferring from SCC to a university can be a smooth process if you plan properly. If you would like to meet with an SCC counselor to help you in this process, call 636-922-8241, or stop by ADM 1204 to schedule an appointment for advising.

All transfer students need to take responsibility for obtaining information on their major field of study from their transfer university. To make sure your courses will transfer, work directly with a transfer counselor at the institution to which you plan to transfer.

Transfer College Agreements (Transfer Guides)
If a university has provided a transfer agreement to SCC, it will be available in the Student Development Office. If transfer information is not available for the university to which you plan to transfer, you will need to check directly with the registrar at your transfer institution to find out how courses transfer.

Use a form called “Certification of Course Transferability” to secure official certification that your courses will transfer. Keep all transfer information throughout the time you are working on your college degrees in case it is needed at a later time!

Campus Visits
Many transfer universities visit SCC in order to speak with prospective students. Also, students are invited to visit the transfer college campus on designated "Transfer Days."

Signs announcing campus visits and "Transfer Days" are posted on the College Transfer Bulletin Board outside of the Student Development Office.

Mid Rivers College Fair and Transfer Fair
Each fall, usually in late September, SCC sponsors a college fair that includes about 100 universities. Representatives from most Missouri universities and many out-of-state universities are available to talk with students. A transfer fair will be offered early in the spring semester.

Why Should You Attend SCC?

SCC is much less expensive than any university, generally has smaller classes that allow students to get more individual attention, is closer to home than most universities, and has faculty who are committed to teaching. SCC offers a high quality education for an affordable price.
