• Students should initiate contact with their transfer school before their first semester at SCC.
  
• Written agreements should be maintained between the student and an admissions official at the transfer school throughout enrollment at SCC to confirm that every course taken at SCC will meet graduation requirements for the student's intended major at the transfer institution.
  
• It is the student's responsibility to ensure that their credits will transfer.
  

• College Web site transfer information is sometimes difficult to interpret. If you have any questions on how a course will transfer, it is very important that you confirm with the transfer college the exact transferability of the course. This should be done in writing with a college admissions official's signature rather than a discussion over the telephone.
  
• If a college's Web site is the resource used to confirm the transferability of a course, students should make a copy of that Web site information and keep for future reference.
  
• Individual copies of transfer guides are available in the hallway outside of and inside ADM 1204.
