ABOUT THE COUGARS

SCC sponsors two intercollegiate sports, men's baseball and women's fast-pitch softball, both at the NJCAA Division I level. Full and partial scholarships are offered to select athletes and open tryout sessions are available for walk-ons in each sport.

The Cougars have been competing in intercollegiate play since 1997. Both men and women have appreciated the chance to compete at the NJCAA Division 1 level; they’ve said it prepared them well for the next step in their athletic careers.

Since 1999, a number of baseball Cougars have moved on to four-year colleges and universities and even the minor leagues. The Athletic Department is working on a list for the women. See Cougar alumni.
