Dual Enrollment
High school juniors or seniors are welcome here! Take
college level classes and
expand your educational background.
Application Procedure:
- Complete the dual enrollment application. A high school GPA of at
least 2.5 is required. Some districts may require a higher
GPA.
- See your high school counselor/principal for approval and completion
of the dual enrollment form.
- Have your parent/guardian sign for approval to enroll.
- Bring or mail the completed form along with an Application
for Admission to the Admissions Office - ADM 1113.
- Students
without previous college credit who plan to take 6
credit hours or math or English courses are required to
complete the Academic
Skills Assessment before enrolling.
NOTE:
Development courses in math and English or physical education
courses are not
available to dually-enrolled or home-schooled students until
their high school curriculum is completed.
- The signature of an SCC counselor is required for registration the
first semester in dual enrollment.
- A limit of 6 credit hours may be taken each semester.
- Complete the registration process and pay fees (financial assistance
is not availbale to dual enrolled students) before attending class.
The credits earned will be recorded on a SCC
transcript and
may be used to fulfill degree requirements at SCC or a transfer
institution.
Dual enrollment forms are available from high school counselors and
from the Student Development Office, Administration Building Room 1204
. A new dual enrollment application must be completed each
semester.
Under age 16? Students 16 and under may enroll in college
credit classes if you are part of a gifted or accelerated program at your
school. Please contact the Student Development Office at
