LEADERSHIP

Nurses are community leaders. We, as faculty, realize this facet of our professional role, and believe that we need to encourage students to assume leadership in the community as a vital part of ADN education.

To assist and encourage you in this, we have developed a list of organizations in our community that would be happy to have you in a volunteer capacity. Volunteerism is not restricted to organizations outside this campus. There are many opportunities “here at home” to assume leadership. Participation in our newly resurrected Student Nurse Organization is just one example.

If you work on a community project or event, let us know about it! At graduation, we look for students to honor who have given significantly to their community—both on and off campus. To verify your participation, please complete the leadership/service verification form. Have it signed by someone in charge of the project or event. Bring it to the Nursing office.
