Membership is based
primarily upon academic achievement and is extended only by the
local chapter at the institution in which you are enrolled. An invitation
to membership is offered to those students
who
achieve the GPA (3.5) required by the chapter on the campus
where they are enrolled, who have accumulated the number of hours
required by the college to designate full-time status, and who enjoy
full rights of citizenship. To be eligible at SCC:
- you must be enrolled in a regionally accredited
institution offering an associate degree program
- you must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework
leading to an associate degree program (part-time students
ARE eligible)
- you must have a grade point average of
3.5
- you must enjoy full rights of citizenship in your
country

Membership in Phi Theta Kappa Honor
Society will open new doors for your academic journey. The organization
offers a myriad of opportunities for scholarships, intellectual
enrichment and personal development through programs based on Phi Theta
Kappa's four hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and
Fellowship.
After you are inducted, as a new
member you will receive:
- a gold embossed membership certificate
- membership identification card
- membership key pin
- diploma seal
- transcript notation of membership
- issue of 3.5 PLUS annual journal
- and Scholarship Directory.
Each member is automatically
nominated for inclusion in the prestigious National Dean's List
biographical publication and is enrolled in the Society's Transfer
Database linking senior institutions offering scholarships to Phi Theta
Kappa members. Members are accorded the privilege of wearing the
Society's Gold Stole and Tassel at
graduation.
