Art Club

The purpose of the Art Club is to promote and encourage interest in the field of visual art within the Art Department and the St. Charles Community College community through activities and events.

Campus Crusade for Christ (CCC)

Campus Crusade for Christ strives to bring together interested students for fun, friendship, and Bible study.  Weekly meetings are meant to provide encouragement, support, and fun!

Ceramic Arts Club

This club is open to all current SCC students interested in organizing and hosting fundraisers from members’ artwork to raise money to attend ceramic conferences and lectures.  We will also be organizing and hosting outdoor, alternative ceramic firings off-campus.  Meetings will be held monthly.

Chess Club

The Chess Club is open to anyone interested in chess, including the novice, the expert, or anyone in between!  Club meetings include opportunities to play others as well as to plan tournaments.

Communications Club

The Communications Club seeks, provides and promotes insight about the practical uses of communication amongst the campus community through education and opportunity. One of our club activities is to invite practitioners to our meetings to make presentations on communication activities (e.g., case studies such as information campaigns, internal communications, public relation efforts).

Creative Writing Society (CWS)

The Creative Writing Society was created to foster people involved in any creative process such as poetry, classic literature, contemporary literature and other art forms including but not limited to painting, dance, cinema, computer graphics, etc.

The purpose of the Game and Mind Expansion Club is to provide an interactive, social environment for fellowship and fun.  Our club gets together to play games, and everyone is welcome!

Global Student Network (GSN)

Global Student Network (GSN) provides the opportunity for international students and others to share their experiences and culture with each other.  GSN hopes to educate the College and local community about their cultures and countries and to learn more about American culture from the College and local community.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK)

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of two-year colleges.  The purpose of PTK is to recognize and promote academic achievement.  Alpha Xi Chi, SCC's Chapter, conducts activities related to the Hallmarks of Phi Theta Kappa: Service, Fellowship, Leadership, and Scholarship.  Students will be invited to become members upon completion of 12 or more college-level credits with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Returning Learners Club

The Returning Learners Club serves as a support and encouragement social group to enhance success at SCC.  While the club is geared towards nontraditional students, anyone is welcome to attend.  They meet every third Friday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the SC Private Dining Room.

S.A.G.E. (Straights and Gays for Equality)

S.A.G.E. helps to promote and maintain a healthy, positive, and welcoming environment for all students regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity.  S.A.G.E. focuses its efforts on building a supportive environment among all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students, faculty, staff, and their straight allies throughout the SCC community.  S.A.G.E. will provide opportunities for education, community service, and social activities.  Our commitment to SCC and its students is to promote diversity and nondiscriminatory factors based on a person's sexual orientation, sexuality, and gender identity.

SCC Roller Hockey Club

The Rollery Hockey Club is a co-ed fitness-oriented club that competes against other colleges from around the Heartland. In-line hockey is played in Matteson's Tri-Plex in St. Peters. The season begins in the fall term and ends in early April.

Soccer Club

The Soccer Club provides opportunity for both men and women. During the fall, the men’s team plays in the Mid-America Collegiate Soccer League and the women’s team plays in the Clayton City League.  Students may be required to tryout in order to participate in league or tournament competition. Tryouts and/or practices begin in August.  In the spring, the club scrimmages on Friday afternoons from 1-3 p.m. and hosts a fundraiser soccer tournament. The spring season begins in April and ends in May.  A student must have a copy of his primary medical insurance policy and a copy of a current physical before participation.

Student Senate

Student Senate is the official student governing body of SCC.  Student Senate serves as an advocate for the interests of SCC students and regularly presents concerns and issues to the College Board of Trustees.  Senators are chosen by both general election and appointment procedures. Senate meetings are held twice monthly: first and third Tuesdays of every month. The Student Senate encourages all students to attend Senate meetings to voice their ideas, concerns, and suggestions.
