The second half of the SCC Roller Hockey Club season is set to start again with tryouts 10-11:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, and 9-10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Matteson Square Garden Tri-Plex in St. Peters. (Tuesday's tryout is no longer at 9 p.m. as previously scheduled.) Requirements and mandatory paperwork for tryouts are listed in the Player Responsibilities and Registration Materials section. The fee is $75 to try out.
New to the team? Preparing for tryouts? Download, print and fill out all of the documents below. Some printed copies are also available in the Student Activities office, CC 102. In addition to this paperwork, include a photocopy of both sides of your medical insurance card. You must turn in ALL paperwork before skating setting foot on the rink for tryouts, and all athletes MUST attend at least two tryouts to be considered for the team. Turn in completed paperwork, along with $75 club fee, to Ben Munson, advisor, in ADM 1121. Make checks payable to SCC.
Print and complete each of the following documents and turn them into Coach Erick Cantrell 60 minutes before the first tryout or Ben Munson, advisor, by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15. You will NOT be allowed to skate if your player paperwork is not 100 percent complete.
Players are responsible for attending all practices and games on time unless prior notification is given to the coaching staff. All mandatory paperwork must be complete, and all athletes must remain enrolled in at least six credit hours with a 1.75 GPA to be eligible for league play and team practices. At the conclusion of the first half of the season, the 10-time national champion Cougars sit comfortably in first place with a 6-3-1 record, having won their final three games of the fall semester. The team will look to re-tool in January for another run at the cup, with tryouts and practices starting Jan. 16.
