SCC TO HOLD OPEN AUDITIONS FOR “ISN’T IT ROMANTIC”
St. Charles Community College’s Center Stage Theatre is holding open auditions for the upcoming production of the play “Isn’t It Romantic,” written by Wendy Wasserstein.
“Isn’t It Romantic” is a bright, funny and sentimental comedy that follows the post-college careers of two former classmates, Julia Blumberg and Harriet Cornwall. Both are struggling to escape from well-meaning, yet overbearing, parents and to establish their own lives and identities. Told in a fast-moving series of alternately hilarious and touching scenes, the story explores the parallel stories of these two very different women.
Director Deborah Phillips will hold open auditions at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 7 p.m. Monday, March 1, and 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, in Room 108 of the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building on the SCC campus in Cottleville. Center Stage Theatre invites SCC students and community residents to audition. There are roles available for four men and four women.
“Isn’t It Romantic” will be performed in the theater of the Fine Arts Building at 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, April 21-24, and
2 p.m. Sunday, April 25.
For more information about auditions or the play, contact Tana Burton at 636-922-8254, Deborah Phillips at dphillips@stchas.edu or visit www.stchas.edu.
