SCC TO BE SITE OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION
CURRICULUM CONFERENCE APRIL 5

The Rivers Bend Association for the Education of Young Children (RBAEYC) will host the 2008 Spring Curriculum Conference from 8:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m. Saturday, April 5, in the Social Sciences Building of St. Charles Community College.  The conference will provide professional development opportunities for early childhood educators.

RBAEYC is the Eastern Missouri chapter of the Association for the Education of Young Children of Missouri and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The mission of the association is to promote excellence in early childhood programs through education, professional development, and advocacy.

The conference is open to any child care provider, including interested parents.  More than 500 presenters, vendors, and attendees are expected to participate in the day-long event.  More than 40 topics, such as interactions with children, professional development and leadership, and learning environment and curriculum will be covered in the different sessions.

The cost for the conference ranges from $37-47, based on membership or non-membership to the organization and the time of registration.  Early bird registration ends March 5 for members and March 25 for non-members.  Participants can also earn clock hours of training or CEUs for an additional fee.

For more information about the conference, contact Cindy Imhauser at 1-800-210-2602.  Information will also be on the RBAEYC Web site, www.rbaeyc.org.  For information regarding SCC’s child care and early education program, contact Dr. Linda Estes at 636-922-8669 or lestes@stchas.edu.
