NOV. 17 WOMEN’S FAIR IS A TIME
FOR EXPLORATION
AND RELAXATION

Mini-seminars focusing on health, fitness, beauty, and personal discovery will enlighten and entertain participants at the 16th annual Women’s Fair on Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Charles Community College.

Women can learn about the joys of chocolate; holiday hair and makeup; updates on breast care self-exam, urinary incontinence, and bra fitting; and how to turn exercise into fun, including “chair exercise” and the latest craze of pole dancing for fitness.

The fair, presented by the college in partnership with JCPenney and SSM St. Joseph Health Center-Hospital West, will take place from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Student Center on the SCC Campus, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.

Fun, Fit, and Fabulous is the theme of the fair, inviting women from throughout the area for a day of education, relaxation, prizes, food, and fun.

A $5 general admission includes a selection of nine seminars throughout the day, an exhibit area with more than 40 vendors displaying products and services, and a continental breakfast from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Special $20 VIP tickets will include a fashion show, keynote speaker, and full-course luncheon catered by Grappa Grill in addition to the breakfast, exhibits, and seminars. For the fourth consecutive year, JCPenney will host the lunchtime fashion show, with styles for all ages and sizes! The VIP tickets also include individual gift bags for all guests as well as automatic entry into a grand prize drawing -- a personal beauty basket courtesy of JCPenney.

Fair-goers can design their own schedules based on their favorite seminar topics. Mini-seminar sessions (three topics to choose from during each time frame) begin at 9:30 a.m., 10:40 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. The luncheon/fashion show opens at 11:45 a.m. and runs until 1:15 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

A special feature during the luncheon this year will be a high-energy presentation by author Dan Coughlin providing practical insights to leveraging strengths and passions, enhancing work/family/personal life balance, clarifying priorities, and achieving the life you want to live. Coughlin, whose most recent publication is a book on “Acceleration: How to Accelerate Your Career and Your Business Results,” offers practical ideas that women can use to accelerate toward achieving their goals.

Vendor booths will be bustling with demonstrations, give-aways, and information on women’s health, beauty, education, fitness, and home improvement. There will be cholesterol screenings, digital foot scans, skin care, hair care, and nutrition products as well as wireless phones, tools for women, holiday gifts, scrapbooking, and kitchen and home essentials. Door prizes will be given away all day in the general exhibit area.

Women’s Fair 2007 “Fun, Fit, and Fabulous” is sponsored by Dairy Queen, Curves, Grappa Grill, KFAV-99.9 FM “Hot Country” Radio, LAS Chiropractic, Vanity Fair/Lily of France, Silpada Designs, and Community News. It is presented by the college in partnership with JCPenney and SSM St. Joseph Health Center-Hospital West.
