STUDENT GIFTS ENHANCE GEOLOGY STUDIES AT SCC
Two physical geology students at St. Charles Community College are giving back to their school.
Edith-Ann Zecca, a former student in physical geology, recently provided numerous Paleozoic fossils to the SCC science department. Tom Nelson, local mineral collector/exhibitor and current SCC student in physical geology, donated a portion of his collection of mineral and rock samples to the department.
“These donations provided by Tom and Edith-Ann are greatly appreciated and have enhanced the department’s geology collection,” said Jane Rood, assistant professor of geology at SCC.
The donated samples will be on display in the science department. They will also be used as examples for geology students, providing another dimension to their classroom learning experience.
