NOV. 17 WOMEN’S FAIR WILL BE FUN, FIT, AND FABULOUS
Fall is the perfect time to set a course for self-improvement and self-awareness and to have fun in the process! Women will find the answers to questions on health, family, career, image, fashion, and more at the 2007 Women’s Fair – Fun, Fit, and Fabulous – set for Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. Charles Community College.
The 16th annual Women’s Fair, presented by the college in partnership with JCPenney and SSM St. Joseph Health Center-Hospital West, will take place from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Student Center on the SCC Campus, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive in Cottleville.
Women from throughout the area will gather for a day of education, relaxation, prizes, food, and fun, including nine mini-seminars, a fashion show and keynote speaker, and more than 50
vendors displaying products and services.
The $5 general admission includes all exhibits and seminars and a continental breakfast from 8:30-9:30 a.m. The special $20 VIP tickets will include a fashion show, keynote speaker, and full-course luncheon catered by Grappa Grill in addition to the breakfast, exhibits, and seminars. For the fourth consecutive year, JCPenney will host the lunchtime fashion show, with styles for all ages and sizes! The $20 VIP tickets also include individual gift bags for all guests as well as automatic entry into a grand prize drawing -- a personal beauty basket courtesy of JCPenney.
The educational component of the fair gives participants nine mini-seminars to choose from including information on exercise, fitness, breast care, urinary incontinence, and plastic surgery. Other personal improvement and awareness topics include bra fitting and wardrobe, “ups” and “dos” for holiday hair, makeup made easy, and the “spirit of chocolate” to enhance life and lift the spirit.
Seminar sessions (three topics to choose from during each time frame) begin at 9:30 a.m., 10:40 a.m., and 1:30 p.m. The luncheon/fashion show opens at 11:45 a.m. and runs until 1:15 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
A special feature during the luncheon this year will be a high-energy presentation by author Dan Coughlin providing practical insights to leveraging strengths and passions, enhancing work/family/personal life balance, clarifying priorities, and achieving the life you want to live. Coughlin, whose most recent publication is a book on “Acceleration: How to Accelerate Your Career and Your Business Results,” offers practical ideas that women can use to accelerate toward achieving their goals.
Open to all who attend the Women’s Fair are more than 50 beauty, health, and personal discovery exhibits to browse and drawings for door prizes all day in the general admission area. At the exhibit booths, women can collect information and product samples as well as participate in interactive displays by numerous merchants, agencies, health providers, beauty consultants, and
other exhibitors offering career, home, family, and personal care assistance.
Women’s Fair 2007 “Fun, Fit, and Fabulous” is sponsored by Dairy Queen, Curves, Grappa Grill, KFAV-99.9 FM “Hot Country” Radio, LAS Chiropractic, Vanity Fair/Lily of France, and Community News.
