SCC CENTER STAGE THEATRE TO PRESENT “STEEL MAGNOLIAS” OCT. 3-7

The St. Charles Community College Center Stage Theatre will be opening the 2007-08 season with Robert Harling’s “Steel Magnolias.”

The show will be from Oct. 3-7 in the theater of the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building on the SCC campus.  Performances are at 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Oct. 3-6, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, and a school matinee performance 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4.

The comedy-drama takes place in Chinquapin, Louisana, in a local beauty salon. It follows Shelby, the prettiest girl in town, through her wedding, pregnancy, illness, and tragic death.  The play demonstrates how friendship, inner strength, and humor help people through the trials of life.
