SCC DISPERSES $10,000 GRANT FROM CITIMORTGAGE

The St. Charles Community College Foundation recently received a $10,000 grant from CitiMortgage, Inc., to be used as scholarships for students enrolled in fall 2007 classes.

The SCC Foundation selected 10 students who had applied for scholarship funds to receive the Citi scholarships of $1,000 each. These scholarships paid the tuition for four courses.

The students who received the scholarships were Paula Dacus, Stacy Jeffries, Steven Juhula, Katie Kullman, Jessica LaBonte, Stephanie Ransweiler, Ashley Sanders, Tim Sears, Ashley Vehlewald, and Lindsay Wallendorf.
“The SCC Foundation is very grateful to CitiMortgage for their support of the SCC Foundation Scholarship Program,” said Edie Kirk, SCC Foundation executive director. “Citi has a long history of generous community support. We appreciate their partnering with the SCC Foundation. Because of this grant students who are pursuing the dream of a college education will have new opportunities.”

The SCC Foundation awarded 45 new scholarships for fall of 2007, for a total of $27,350. In addition, 21 previously awarded scholarships were renewed, for a total of $20,500.

The SCC Foundation is an independent, non-profit organization, whose mission is to improve the quality of life in our community by securing resources to strengthen the educational and cultural opportunities available through St. Charles Community College.
