SCC OFFERING YOUTH CAMPS THIS SUMMER

St. Charles Community College is offering a wide variety of youth summer camps this June and July at its campus in Cottleville.  The camps, with themes ranging from art to space exploration, are for children ages 7-12.

In CFK-075-40, Raging Reaction Lab/Grossology, students will be a part of a completely hands-on science camp where they can create chemical reactions while learning about chemistry, biology, and the environment.  The camp is from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, June 11-14.  Registration is $149.

In CFK-158-40, Fine Arts Academy, students will experience several hands-on projects, including watercolor, face painting, sculpture, mosaics, nature, and multi-culture art.  The camp will be from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, June 18-21.  Registration is $149.

In CFK-120-40, Harry Potter II, students will have the opportunity to spend a week learning about Harry Potter.  Throughout the week students will make magical wands and secret potions, and learn proper care for magical creatures and magic tricks from a professional magician.  The camp concludes with a traditional Harry Potter feast where students are encouraged to deck out in their favorite Harry Potter attire.  The camp is from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 25-29.  Registration is $179; the camp is intended for children ages 10-12.

In CFK-069-40F, Space Exploration, students will explore the world of outer space.  Camp activities will include making and launching paper airplanes and gliders, building a model rocket, and exploring the planets and galaxies.  The camp will include a field trip to the Challenger Learning Center.  The camp is from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, July 30-Aug. 2.  Registration is $149 and the camp is intended for children ages 9-12.
