COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOST
EARLY CHILDHOOD CURRICULUM CONFERENCE APRIL 14
St. Charles Community College will host the fourth
annual spring curriculum conference of the Rivers Bend Association for
the Education of Young Children from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday,
April 14.
Hundreds are expected at the conference, which
is open to any child care provider including interested parents. Cost
is $42 for members and $47 for non-members, and includes lunch. On-site
registration is $47 for both members and non-members. Professional
child care providers may earn four clock hours of in-service time and
.4 CEUs for attendance at the conference. Registration and all
conference sessions will be held in the Social Sciences Building.
The Rivers Bend Association is the eastern Missouri
chapter of the National Association for the Education of Young Children
(NAEYC) whose mission is to promote excellence in early childhood programs
through education, professional development, and advocacy.
Participants will have nearly 35 topics to choose
from at the day-long conference on the SCC campus. In addition to a number
of sessions on curriculum, the conference offers sessions on administration
and advocacy, child observation and assessment; child development; health,
safety, and nutrition; family support; and staff development.
