a. An employee must be a full-time faculty member or be
employed in a regular or in an externally funded position
which is assigned to a minimum thirty-two (32) hour work
week and be continuously employed in this eligible category
for at least one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days
before the start date of a course.
Student Assistants, Educational Aides, work-study students
and project based employees are not eligible for tuition
reimbursement.
b. The course must be related to the employee’s job
assignment or to a position at the College which is within
the career path of the employee’s current position
or the course must be a requirement for a degree program
toward which the employee is working. The degree must also
be similarly related.
c. The course must be taken from an accredited institution
of higher education.
d. A maximum of fifteen (15) academic credit hours or the
equivalent per calendar year is eligible for reimbursement.
e. An employee must submit a Tuition Reimbursement Form
and obtain approval for the specific course(s) from the immediate
supervisor and the Human Resources Department. This approval
must be requested prior to the start of a course.
f. Upon completion of a course, the employee must submit
proof of payment and a grade report which verifies that
a grade of “C” or higher was earned for an undergraduate
course or a grade of “B” or higher for a graduate
course. When a letter grade or academic credit is not issued
for a course, other verification of satisfactory completion
will be required.
