Weapons (Concealed or Visible) |

St. Charles Community College prohibits
carrying a handgun, weapon, knife, or other weapon of
any kind on the College campus. |

For the enhanced safety of the College, the Board of
Trustees has the sole authority to designate an employee
as a licensed peace officer or a licensed security officer
who may carry weapons while on duty. Any employee designated
by the Board of Trustees as a licensed peace officer or
licensed security officer must adhere to all Missouri
State licensing requirements. |

No person shall carry a weapon (concealed or visible)
into a meeting of the Board of Trustees whether or not
said meeting is being conducted on the College campus
or elsewhere. Nor shall any person carry a weapon (concealed
or visible) onto the campus at any time regardless of
whether the person is licensed to carry the weapon or
not. This prohibition will also apply to vehicles brought
on the College campus. |

The above prohibitions shall apply to
students, employees, and members of the public. The
prohibitions shall not apply to law enforcement officers
or Board approved licensed peace officers or licensed
security officers, as described above.

Any person who has a conceal and carry
permit or endorsement who is carrying a concealed weapon
will be denied entry and ordered to leave the campus
or the meeting of the Board of Trustees. All College
employees are authorized to deny entry and order persons
carrying concealed weapons to leave.

College employees and students who violate
the provisions of this policy shall be subject to disciplinary
action up to and including dismissal. |

The College shall post appropriate notice
that weapons are prohibited on campus. |
