- Apply to the college in the Administration Building 1204 or on-line.
- Take the Academic Skills Assessment for English, reading , and math placement
if you do not have college English or math credit. These tests are free
in the Assessment Center, ADM 1206.
- Send for official transcripts of all colleges attended and request
that they be evaluated by filling out the Credit Evaluation Form.
- Have official high school transcripts or GED scores sent to Admissions,
ADM 1113. If you do not have a high school diploma or a GED certificate,
you must take and pass the GED test.
- Submit ACT scores taken within 5 years of beginning the OTA program.
No minimum score is required. Send them to Admissions in ADM 1113.
- If you do not have an ACT score or if the score is more
than 5 years old you will need to take the ACT. The
ACT is waived only when the student has received a college degree.
- Formulate an education plan and discuss the OTA requirements with
a Career-Technical Counselor in Room 1204 ADM. Please call 636-922-8246
or 636-922-8241 to schedule an appointment.
- When your writing skills are beyond ENG 096, Developmental Writing
II, and your math skills are beyond MAT 096, Developmental Math II, you
can apply to the OTA program with a Career-Technical Counselor.
- Observe three different OTA's or OT's at three different sites for
two hours each. Must complete observation forms which can be obtained
from a Career-Technical Counselor.
- Obtain and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or greater on a minimum of six college
credit hours including Anatomy and Physiology I. Developmental courses
do not count.
- Acceptance into the OTA program is granted when:
- Space is available. Twenty students are accepted each fall
on a first come first served basis.
- English 096 and Math 096 are complete.
- High school transcripts or GED scores are on file.
- ACT score is on file unless the student has an Associate or Bachelor's
degree.
- Six hours of college credit is complete with a cumulative GPA of
2.5 or higher or high school transcripts with a cumulative GPA of 2.5
or higher.
- If a student has met these requirements and the class is full, the
student can request to be placed on the alternate list for that year.
- If a student does not get into the OTA program for that year they
must reapply to be considered for the following year.
