SCC will host a series of events in honor of Black History Month starting today, Jan. 28. The events include film and documentary showings, a panel discussion, a lecture, lunchtime trivia and more. The Multicultural Programming Committee of St. Charles Community College will host the Between the Covers Book Club for faculty, staff and students starting Wednesday, Jan. 30. Journey Through Egypt 2 will be at 6-10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2; and 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, in the College Center. Journey Through Egypt 2 is deeper exploration of the dance zones introduced in Journey Through Egypt 1. This is a 20-hour intensive workshop with certification as an advanced workshop basic overview within which participants begin to form their own interests and questions and establish a strong base for future research and specialization. Prerequisite: Must have completed Journey Through Egypt 1. Email ccdreg@stchas.edu for more information. SCC will host a comedy night featuring Solomon Georgio and J. Chris Newburg at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in the theater of the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building. This show is rated PG-13. The Printmaking and Sculpture Invitational exhibition, curated by Christine Holtz, will include the works of 11 local artists working in a variety of printmaking and sculptural processes. The exhibition runs Jan. 28-Feb. 22, with an opening reception from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, and is free and open to the public. Join Disney® Princesses as Young People's Theatre brings your favorite characters to life in a rousing musical review of the fabulous Disney music that we have all come to love. Cinderella and Price Charming will host a dessert show that will include many of their best friends at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Feb. 9-10. Allow yourself to be transported to the world of Disney as you enjoy sweet treats and lemonade, coffee or tea. Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Prince Charming and many of their companions will entertain and charm you. What a fabulous way to say, "I love you," just before Valentine's Day.
