The college will be closed Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 21-23, for the Thanksgiving holiday, and no credit classes will be held Nov. 21-24. If you already have one, just remember to have Schnucks swipe it while purchasing groceries. |

See International Education Week for more information. SCC will celebrate GIS Day from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, in the rotunda of the College Center. SCC students and local users of geographical information systems (GIS) will demonstrate how GIS is used in the local and global community to improve our daily lives, including 911 response time improvements and urban planning issues. GIS Day provides an international forum for users of GIS technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society. For more information about GIS, contact Ellen Wilson at x8531. The SCC Music Department will hold student music recitals at noon Wednesday, Nov. 14, in FAB 118. The recitals are free and open to the public. SCC Center Stage Theatre will present Stepping Out at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14-15, 8 p.m. Nov. 16-17, and 2 p.m. Nov. 18, in the FAB Theater. The last day to receive a "W" for 12/FA3 classes is Monday, Nov. 5. Academic Advising will start taking student appointments Monday, Nov. 5. To schedule an appointment with a counselor, students can call 636-922-8241 or stop by the Academic Advising office, located in Room 1204 of the Administration Building. Office hours are 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday. SCC Enrollment Services will hold a Returning Learners Workshop from 8 a.m.-noon, Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 5-7, in the Private Dining Room of the Student Center. The free workshop helps students who have been out of school for a number of years ease back into the classroom situation. Contact Cassie Akins at 636-922-8248 to sign up. With SALT students can learn about finances, track student loans, receive deals and discounts, and search for jobs, internships and scholarships.
