The college will be closed on Wednesday, July 4, in honor of Independence Day. No classes will be held and all offices will be closed. The Plaza Bistro will be closed the week of July 1-8 and will reopen Monday, July 9. Summer hours will continue: 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday. The Café remains closed until August. The Plaza Bistro will offer an ice cream sundae bar every Friday during the summer from Bookstore summer hours are: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday; closed Saturday-Sunday. Regular store hours will resume Monday, July 23. The Fitness Center hours through July 30:

SCC Student Activities and Friends & Alumni are hosting the second outdoor summer movie, "The Goonies," at 8 p.m. Friday, July 20, on the lawn outside the Technology Building, near the orange parking lot. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and food. Free popcorn will be provided and snacks and beverages will also be available for purchase. The Continuing Education Art Extravaganza will be from July 23-Aug. 4 in the FAB gallery. This art show will feature work by instructors and students from the SCC Continuing Education Department, including painting, drawing, ceramics, woodworking, basketry, photography, jewelry design and more. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays. Call x8233 or email ccdreg@stchas.edu for more information.
SCC Center Stage Theatre will present “A Little Night Music” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, July 24-26, at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, July 27-28, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, in the FAB theater. The last day to drop and receive a "W" for 12/SU classes is Friday, July 6. The last day to drop and receive a "W" for 12/SU3 classes is Wednesday, July 11. A representative from Fontbonne University will be visiting SCC to discuss transfer requirements in the Atrium of the Administration Building during the following times:
Beginning in the fall 2012 semester, there will be a charge for printing in the LRC, ACE Center and Tech 116. The charges will be $0.10 for a black/white, one-sided copy, $0.15 for a black/white, double-sided copy and $0.30 for a color, one-sided copy. Students must present their SCC student ID in order to print on campus and separate community log-in information will be provided for local residents to access paid printing in the LRC. |

Tim Hahn, SCC adjunct art instructor, will have his work included in a number of shows this summer, including "Blur" at Art St Louis Gallery, "3-D" at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles, "Black and White" at Tejas Gallery in Dayton, Ohio, and KY7 Kentucky Biennial in Lexington, Ky. Joyce Lindstrom, SCC professor of math, has been invited to join the Global Skills for College Completion (GSCC) Project as a GSCC 2.0 Faculty Fellow. The GSCC program had a highly competitive applicant pool, and received over 150 applications for only 24 available faculty spots. Brian Smith, SCC professor of art, will curate the "Intersecting Narratives" art exhibition at the Duane Reed Gallery in St. Louis, which will be shown from June 29-Aug. 4. "Intersecting Narratives" is an exhibit of stories that have been shared and have yet to be told. These works by a diverse group of emerging St. Louis artists forecasts a mixture of hope and unease that is reflective of contemporary culture. |
