The 24th annual SCC commencement ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12, in the College Center. The keynote address will be given by St. Charles Mayor Sally Faith. In 2011, the SCC Foundation received an additional $1,019.87 to award in scholarships and grants, thanks to the Schnucks Escrip program. The SCC Show Choir will perform three concerts at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, and 8 p.m. Thursday-Friday, May 10-11, in the FAB theater. Center Stage Theatre is holding vocal and acting auditions for the upcoming production of “A Little Night Music,” at 7 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, May 15-16, in the FAB theater. The annual SCC Foundation event, Rhythm and Ribs, featuring live music, food and drinks, will be from 6-10 p.m. Friday, May 18, on the SCC campus. There is a special 25th anniversary discount ticket package for SCC employees: Buy three Music and More ticket packages at $25 each, and get a fourth ticket for just $0.25. SCC Continuing Education is hosting the eighth annual middle eastern dance recital, "A Thousand and One Nights," at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 19, in the FAB theater. The recital will feature the Madrasat Nisaa student dancers, showcasing the vibrant, beautiful art of raqs sharqi (belly dance). This event is free and open to the public. The last day of spring 2012 classes is Monday, May 7. Final exams will be May 8-14. All students should have received an email to their CougarMail account asking them to fill out the IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction Survey. Please encourage students to fill out this survey for each course by May 7. Tuition and fees for 12/SU0 classes are due Thursday, May 10. The first five-week summer mini-mester classes begin Wednesday, May 16. |
