	The college will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr., Day. All offices will be closed and no classes will be held. The fitness center and open gym hours for Jan. 3-13 are 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, and they will be closed Saturdays and Sundays. In order to prepare for this year’s winter season, sign up for SCC’s Text Message Emergency Alert System for updates on emergencies, warnings, campus shutdowns and weather-related closings. Even if you have registered for this service before, the system is updated once a year and clears out everyone who has registered in the past. Once you sign up, you will remain active in the system until July 20, 2012. After July 20, you will have to re-register. Sign up here: stchas.edu/text. 	SCC Center Stage Theatre will hold open auditions for the upcoming production of “Harvey,” at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, in Room 108 of the FAB theater.

	The 2011-12 Staff Training and Education Program (STEP) schedule is now available online. Deadlines for enrolling: Civil Treatment for Employees, Jan. 6. To sign up for STEP classes, contact Jessica Trimborn in Human Resources. Learn more about the STEP Program.

	Tuition and fees for all spring 2012 classes are due by 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9. Registration for spring 2012 classes will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 10. In-person registration will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11. Online registration will reopen Thursday, Jan. 12. Spring 2012 classes will begin Saturday, Jan. 14. The SCC Foundation awards nearly $65,000 in scholarships to SCC students every year. Scholarship packets for the 2012-13 school year are available beginning Jan. 4 at www.stchas.edu/scholarships. Packets are due at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012.
