The college will be closed for the holidays Friday, Dec. 23, 2011-Monday, Jan. 2, 2012. Offices will re-open Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.

The fitness center and open gym hours for Dec. 19-23 are 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, and they will be closed Saturdays and Sundays. The fitness center and gym will be closed for the holidays Dec. 23, 2011-Jan. 2, 2012, and will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.

In order to prepare for this year’s winter season, sign up for SCC’s Text Message Emergency Alert System for updates on emergencies, warnings, campus shutdowns and weather-related closings. Even if you have registered for this service before, the system is updated once a year and clears out everyone who has registered in the past. Once you sign up, you will remain active in the system until July 20, 2012. After July 20, you will have to re-register. Sign up here: stchas.edu/text.

Food services

The SCC Office of Human Resources would like to thank the SCC Food Services Department for their hard work and dedication they put in to the Employee Recognition Dinner on Dec. 5. Gail Voss, SCC lead AEL instructor, raised $366 for literacy by selling books at the Literacy Roundtable Kid City Expo at the St. Charles Convention Center.

The SCC chapter of Phi Beta Lambda raised $286.14 for the Wounded Warriors Project through a bake sale during the Veterans Week events on Nov. 7.
