The Child Development Center has entered their garden into AgriMissouri's 10,000 Garden Challenge School and Community Contest, in which they have a chance to win a $500 grand prize for supplies, tools, seeds and plants for their garden. Fact: A team of five administrators and staff from other colleges that are members of NCA will be selected by the HLC and NCA to be the consultant evaluators who will validate SCC's self-study report in November 2011. The SCC Continuing Education Department will host Art Extravaganza, an exhibit featuring artwork from their students and instructors July 25-Aug. 6 in the FAB gallery. Gallery hours are Center Stage Theatre will present "The Drowsy Chaperone," a musical-within-a-musical, at 8 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, July 26-30, and 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, in the FAB theater. All SCC employees and students are entitled to two free tickets. Tickets are $7 general admission and $5 for seniors/students. Contact Jeanine Spence at x8050 for tickets. President John McGuire’s Farewell Tribute is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, in the College Center. Tickets are $75 and include heavy hors d'oeuvres, drinks and a Roast-and-Toast from party hosts. To purchase tickets or for more information visit www.stchas.edu/mcguirefarewell. Proceeds from ticket sales and donations will help establish an endowment fund. There will also be a campus celebration planned for early fall. |

Students can now find tips on how to be successful in college on the new "College Success" Web page, created by Student Development and the ACE Center staff. Enrollment Services also created a new "Parent and Family Guide" Web page, which contains FAQs for new students and their families. Textbooks for the fall 2011 semester will be available for purchase at the SCC Bookstore or online beginning Monday, July 25. All 11/FA01 (COL 101) tuition and fees are due Thursday, July 28. All 11/FA02 (COL 101) and 11/FA1 tuition and fees are due by 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1. If students fail to pay tuition and fees by the deadline they will be dropped from their classes. 11/SU3 summer late-start classes end Monday, Aug. 1. In-person and online registration for fall 2011 classes will be closed Tuesday, Aug. 2. In-person registration will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, and online registration will reopen Thursday, Aug. 4. The last day to change from credit to audit or audit to credit or to drop and receive a 'W' for 11/FA01 classes is Wednesday, Aug. 3. |
