Do you know any former SCC students or graduates who have become leaders in their professions and have given back to their communities? Well the SCC Foundation is also now accepting nominations for the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award. Students who earned degrees are preferred but not required. Download a nomination form and submit your nomination by Feb. 28. The recipient will be notified by April 15 and will be presented the award at the SCC commencement ceremony in May. SCC is updating its Expert Guide, so if you consider yourself an expert in a given topic, please consider being a part of this important resource. The SCC Expert Guide is an online resource, hosted on the SCC website that will be used by media and organizations looking for an expert or speaker. To sign up, submit a resume, vitae or current bio to Peggy Schreiner or to the Marketing and Communications (MAC) Office in ADM 1121. You can also fill out an online form on MAC's Intranet page. All information must be submitted by Feb. 28 in order for it to be included in the Expert Guide. Contact Michael Kuelker or Peggy Schreiner if you have any questions. With all of the recent weather-related closings, now might be a good time to sign up for the SCC Emergency Alert Text Messaging System. This system only alerts you about SCC campus emergencies, closings and shutdowns. If you signed up before July 23, 2010, you will need to sign up again. You can also check the SCC home page or the SCC Facebook page for updates on campus closings. Tell us your story! Do you know someone, whether it's a student, faculty or staff member at SCC, who deserves to be recognized? Or maybe you have a unique story about yourself or your experiences at SCC that you'd like to share with us! Now you can, online — it's easy! Just go to SCC's home page (www.stchas.edu) and click on the blue "I (heart) SCC" icon at the bottom of the page and fill out the form, either for yourself or about someone you know whose story deserves to be heard! If you have any questions, contact the Marketing and Communications Department. Now that the holidays are over, make Schnucks your one-stop shop to get everything you need to stock up your fridge. Be sure to use your Schnucks Escrip card and help raise money for the SCC Foundation at the same time! When you're at the checkout counter with your groceries just hand the cashier your Escrip card before you pay – it’s as simple as that! A percentage of all of your purchases will go toward the Foundation. For more information about the card or to register your eScrip card, contact Jessica O'Laughlin at x8437. |
