Tell us your story! Do you know someone, whether it's a student, faculty or staff member at SCC, who deserves to be recognized? Or maybe you have a unique story about yourself or your experiences at SCC that you'd like to share with us! Now you can, online it's easy! Just go to SCC's home page (www.stchas.edu) and click on the blue "I (heart) SCC" icon at the bottom of the page and fill out the form, either for yourself or about someone you know whose story deserves to be heard! If you have any questions, contact the Marketing and Communications Department.

Now that the holidays are over, make Schnucks your one-stop shop to get everything you need to stock up your fridge. Be sure to use your Schnucks Escrip card and help raise money for the SCC Foundation at the same time! When you're at the checkout counter with your groceries just hand the cashier your Escrip card before you pay – it’s as simple as that! A percentage of all of your purchases will go toward the Foundation. For more information about the card or to register your eScrip card, contact Jessica O'Laughlin at x8437.

Young People's Theatre will host open auditions for their production of "Les Miserables, Student Edition" from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, in the FAB theater. Contact Amy Fitzwilliam at x8335 or visit www.stchas.edu/ypt for more information.

Center Stage Theatre will hold open auditions for "A Piece of My Heart," 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, in the FAB theater. Contact Hal Berry at x8255 for more information.

An SCC violin recital featuring Mary Sweetin will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, in the FAB theater.

Nashville-based singer-songwriter Treva Blomquist will perform a free concert from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, in the Cafe/Bookstore, as part of Student Activities' Lunchtime Entertainment Series.

SCC Comedy Night featuring nationally recognized comedians Butch Bradley and Jessica Kirson will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, in the FAB theater. Bradley is a regular on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," and Kirson was part of seasons 2 and 3 of "Last Comic Standing." Tickets are $2 for students with a valid ID and $5 for the general public.  Tickets are available for purchase at the SCC Box Office, x8050. This show is rated PG-13.

In-person registration for the Spring 2011 semester reopens and 11/SP01 pre-spring Orientation to College classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Last day to drop and receive a "W" or to change from credit to audit or audit to credit for 11/SP01 pre-spring term Orientation to College classes is Wednesday, Jan. 5.

11/SP01 pre-spring Orientation to College classes end Monday, Jan. 10.

11/SP1 first eight-week classes and all other spring semester classes begin Saturday, Jan. 15.

SCC is offering 10 scholarships worth $500 each for a new Patient Care Technician Program for Spring 2011. This is a new one-semester, non-credit, dual-certificate program that will only admit 10 qualifying students. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive a Certificate of Completion from SCC and a Missouri Certified Nurse Assistant Certificate. For an application, call x8295 or visit the Health Occupations Office in ADM 1442. Scholarship applications are due by
3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, to ADM 1442. For course requirements or more information, go to the Patient Care Technician program Web page.

John Driscoll, public safety police officer, was featured in an article in Law Enforcement magazine.

Bob Ronkoski, director of public safety, was re-elected for a second term as president of the Missouri Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators for 2011-12.
