Over the four-course sequence learn networking fundamentals, routing and switching protocols, router and switch configuration in the LAN and WAN and wireless technologies.  Combination of hands-on labs, lectures, and demonstrations.

Prepares the student for the Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA) certification and for IT job market skills required to become a network installer, network technician, help desk technician, basic network designer, network administrator or network engineer.

An in-depth introduction to network security based on router firewalls and security appliances. Topics include Access Control Lists (ACLs) , AAA security, intrusion detection, and monitoring, and securing Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). Combination of lectures, demonstrations, discussions, online assignments and hands-on labs. This course along with Network Security II (CPC 246) helps students attain some of the security-related industry certifications.

An in-depth introduction to the current Windows desktop operating systems including installation, resource usage, hardware devices and drivers, system performance and reliability, network protocols and services, desktop, security, and troubleshooting. Emphasis on supporting end users. Combination of lectures, demonstrations, discussions and hands-on labs. This course helps to prepare students for an MCTS industry certification.

An in-depth study of the latest Windows Server operating system including installation, managing a server environment, access to resources, disaster recovery, IP addressing, name resolution, routing and remote access, and network security. This course helps to prepare students for an MCTS industry certification and is one of the courses that aids in preparation for MCITP certification.
