of Labor Statistics (BLS)
- The BLS site offers data on all things related to workers in the U.S.:
demographics, occupational outlooks, wages, benefits, consumer spending,
unemployment, and more.
The BLS' Occupational Outlook Handbook is available in hardcopy
in the library [REF HB 2593 .A3 O23]
- Census
Bureau
- The Census Bureau collects and makes available data on many topics, including
social issues. Social issues can include poverty, ethnicity, housing,
and economics. Some data is available by state.
- Statistical
Abstract of the United States
- Browse for the table you need in the index. The Statistical Abstract has
loads of statistics on many topics, including crime. [Also available
in hardcopy in the library [REF HD 7096 .U6 U82]

MedlinePlus offers links to authoritative sites relating to disabilities.

- The Office of Disability, Aging, and
Long-Term Care Policy, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, collects
data and prints reports concering all areas of disability, aging, and long-term care policy.
