Finding Articles with SCC Library Indexes
The following databases are available from the library Web site. These can be accessed off campus by students, faculty, and staff of SCC with a valid ID number. Search the databases for articles from magazines, journals, and/or newspapers.
- Academic Search Elite / Masterfile
- Academic Search Elite and Masterfile are general periodical indexes which together cover 3,100+ magazines, journals, and some newspapers. These indexes offer searches by keyword, subject, periodical title, author, etc., and include a feature that allows you to search only the scholarly or "peer-reviewed" journals.
- ERIC

This education database contains citations to journals and documents, offering some full-text. Articles in ERIC address issues and concepts in education.
- Teacher Reference Center
- Abstracts for the most popular teacher and administrator trade journals. Some full-text articles are available.
- KCDL (Kraus Curriculum Development Library)
- KCDL Online provides curriculum guides, lesson plans and much more for Pre-K to 12 from school districts and other educational organizations throughout the United States. Online full text is provided for the 20th edition to the present; the 19th edition is located on microfiche in the SCC Library.
