SCC is committed to helping students, staff, and faculty members who want to stop using tobacco. SCC provides on-campus resources for students as well as referrals to programs in St. Charles County.

Resources on Campus

Visit the Healthy Environment Information Station located near the Fitness Center Help Desk, College Center. Free "Quit Kits" are available.

Programs off Campus

If you are a tobacco user and carry health insurance coverage, some health care plans provide reimbursement benefits for those who successfully complete a tobacco cessation program. Call your insurance provider to learn more about your preventive health benefits.

  • 1-800-Quit Now (1-800-784-8669) offered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
  • www.smokefree.gov – An online quitting resource.
  • www.quit-smoking-review.com – Reviews various products available for cessation
  • www.surgeongeneral.gov/tobacco
  • www.lungusa.org – Online Freedom from Smoking class, provided by the American Lung Association
  • Area hospitals offer smoking cessation, auricular therapy, and hypnosis sessions.
  • Contact your personal medical advisor for medications or program referrals.
