William R. PundmannWILLIAM R. PUNDMANN, Vice President

William R. Pundmann was elected to the St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees on April 4, 2006. He became vice president of the Board in 2008.

Trustee Pundmann grew up in St. Charles and is a life-long resident except for a brief career as Securities Analyst and Investment Manager for several prominent New York City investment firms.  He returned to St. Charles in 1978, and as a result of his experience, founded a successful investment firm, Pundmann & Co. He is President and CEO of the firm.  He is married to Irene A. Pundmann, a Registered Pharmacist, and they have four children – Margaret, William, Catherine and Elizabeth. All are members of the First United Methodist Church of St. Charles.

He is an alumnus of the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he played varsity football for one year in 1968, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1971, and was awarded an M.B.A. degree in Finance in 1973 from New York University.

Trustee Pundmann has a long history of service to local and statewide community and business organizations.  Mr. Pundmann was invited to and served as an advisor to the Missouri State Treasurer on investment matters. He served as President and International board member of the Association for Corporate Growth.  He also served as a board member of the St. Charles Rotary Club, a board member of the Boys and Girls Service League, and a board member of the St. Louis Chapter of the University of Missouri Alumni Association.  He has been and is a strong supporter of higher education and has lent his services to the funding of various athletic and educational projects at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

He has received many awards including Outstanding Performance Award from the Association for Corporate Growth, Golden Tiger Award from the University of Missouri, a Jefferson Club fellowship from the University of Missouri and a Paul Harris fellowship from the Rotary International Club.

PRIORITY STATEMENT
“My goals as a trustee are to assure that education is affordable and accessible for students without the need for significant tax levy increases by promoting financial aid programs and assuring that sound financial policies are adopted by the Board consistent with the needs of county residents and goals of the St. Charles Community College; generate community support and involvement in promoting the goals and objectives of the college relating to the attraction of and meeting the needs of individual students, corporate and business educational needs, and financial support in the form of scholarships and tuition assistance from the business community that benefit from employing individuals with requisite educational requirements; and supporting  building and facility infrastructure needs and advocating financial responsibility.”
