College Update

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award. The award will be given to a former student, regardless of the length of his or her enrollment at SCC, who has excelled in his or her profession and has given back to the community. Nomination forms are due by Friday, Feb. 22. For additional information, contact Edie Kirk at x8473. More.

SCC's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa honor society received the Pinnacle Award for 2007. The honor is given to chapters that increase membership by at least 10 percent. This award is due not only to the academic excellence of SCC students, but also to the organization's diligence in encouraging qualifying students to join PTK. In recognition of their achievement, the group received a complementary registration for the 2008 International Convention in Philadelphia.
