Staff Training and
Education Program Frequently Asked Questions and
Answers
- Q: How do I learn about upcoming STEP training programs?
- A: Jeanine Williams in the Human Resources
department will send e-mails and post upcoming sessions on the STEP Training
Schedule.
- Q: How do I sign up for training?
- A: To sign up for STEP classes contact Jessica
James at jjames@stchas.edu or ext. 8393, and indicate your name, the
session(s) you want to attend, and your contact information.
- Q: How do I keep track of training units I
have attended?
- A: During each training session, the instructor
will pass around a sign-up sheet. These sheets will be used to record
your name and the session you attended in your training file. Upon
completion of five units, you will be contacted to select one of the
incentive gifts. Additional training units will lead to more gift
incentives as you continue taking STEP courses.
- Q: Will my supervisor know that I have
received a Certificate of Accomplishment?
- A: Yes. After Dr. McGuire signs it, the original
certificate will be sent to you and copies placed in your personnel file
and sent to your supervisor.
- Q: Are other developmental seminars, not scheduled by the
Human Resources Department, eligible for my Certificate of
Completion and incentive gift?
- A: No. While training of any kind is always encouraged,
only sessions scheduled through the STEP program will be eligible
for the Certificate of Accomplishment and incentive gift. However,
if you attend a seminar or training program that you found informative
and beneficial, please share it with Jeanine Williams, Human Resources,
jeanine_williams@stchas.edu or ext. 8593.
- Q: If I have a great idea for staff training, how do I let
Human Resources know?
- A: You can contact Jeanine Williams, Human Resources,
jeanine_williams@stchas.edu or ext. 8593.
