An Overview of the College
Open Communication Policy
SCC encourages you to discuss any issue you may have with a co-worker
directly with that person. If a resolution is not reached, please arrange
a meeting with your supervisor to discuss any concern, problem, or
issue that arises during the course of your employment. Any information
discussed in an Open Communication meeting is considered confidential.
Retaliation against any employee for appropriate use of Open Communication
channels is unacceptable. Please remember it is counterproductive to
a harmonious workplace for employees to create or repeat rumors or
office gossip. It is more constructive for an employee to consult his/her
supervisor immediately with any questions.
Customer Relations
The success of the College depends upon the quality of the relationships
between SCC, our employees, students, suppliers, and the general public.
The people who serve our students have a major impact on their impression
of the College and their interest and willingness to enroll. Regardless
of your position, you are SCC's ambassador. The more goodwill you promote,
the more our students will respect and appreciate you, the College,
and the educational experience at SCC.
You can help give students a good impression of the College. These are
the building blocks for our continued success:
- Act competently and deal with students in a courteous and respectful
manner.
- Communicate pleasantly and respectfully with other employees at
all times.
- Follow up on orders and questions promptly, provide business-like
replies to inquiries and requests, and perform all duties in an orderly
manner.
- Take great pride in your work and enjoy doing your very best.
