Duties: The Theater Manager is responsible for the scheduling, coordination of technical productions and management of all events in the Donald D. Shook Fine Arts Building. The Theater Manager should have a strong background in technical theater and events programming for a multi-use facility. Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all theater technical systems including scene shop equipment, lighting, sound, and rigging systems for all productions/events in the theatre. Design sets, lights props, costumes, etc. for two play productions per year. Serves as technical director and works in conjunction with designers on building, painting, rigging, hanging, and focusing of sets, props, lights and costumes for all Theater Department productions; advises and assists with the operation, construction and rigging of equipment and scenery for all other in-house and community use of the theater.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Technical Theater required; Master's preferred. One year experience in educational or community-based theater. Minimum one year relevant full time experience in technical theater/multi-purpose facility in an educational setting, theatrical construction experience, experience with various heavy-duty shop and woodworking equipment and tools, experience with sound and lighting equipment, rigging; experience with various computer systems. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Career Consultant (100% FTE – Regular; Hours: 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. 4 days a week, 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. 1 day a week per week required)

Minimum compensation: $28,730
Duties: Conduct individual assessments and provide individual and group career counseling and workshops in the College’s Dislocated Worker Program. Participate in the creation, implementation, and facilitation of workshops such as resume writing, interviewing, and other job search related topics.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in counseling, Labor & Industrial Relations, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Candidate must have excellent follow up, communication, and problem solving skills, and speak effectively before groups.

FACULTY: Fall 2008 (Full-time)

The full-time teaching load is 15 credit hours in Fall and Spring semesters. Professional responsibilities include curriculum development, assessment, committee participation, and college service. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction. Community college teaching experience is preferred.

  • Philosophy Instructor. A Philosophy instructor is needed to teach one section of Ethics. Master’s Degree in Philosophy is required.
  • Reading Instructor. Reading Instructors are needed for Summer & Fall 2008.Master’s degree in Reading required as well as community college teaching experience. Community college teaching experience preferred. ESL teaching experience a plus.

  • CAD Instructor. A part-time instructor is needed to coordinate and teach a daytime course in HVAC Drafting. Relevant AutoCAD experience and HVAC knowledge is required and teaching experience is preferred.
  • Nursing Instructors. Part-time nursing instructor for clinical supervision of practical nursing students in long term care settings. Requires a BSN and a current unrestricted Missouri Registered Nurse license. Must have current med-surg skills. Experience in long term care preferred.
  • OTA Instructors. Part-time instructors needed for OTA program to teach content related to adult physical dysfunction skills for fall 2008 semester. Current licensure as OTR or COTA with at least 2 years experience in a rehabilitation setting.
  • Math Instructors. • Math instructors are needed to teach various math courses.

Young People’s Theatre Assistant – Costumer

Duties: Young People’s Theatre performs three shows a year. The person in this position is responsible for researching fashions for the time periods, designing, sewing, organizing, repairing, and cleaning costumes for each production. The costumer works closely with the director and parent volunteers.
Qualifications: Candidate must be knowledgeable about and know how to sew, be organized, creative, patient, get along well with children of all ages, be able to complete projects in a timely manner, and be available for nightly rehearsals and all performances.

  • AEL. Bowling Green – Substitute instructors to work on an as needed basis at Northeast Correctional Center in the education department. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and AEL certification or Missouri teacher’s certification are needed. Adult education experience preferred. These are externally funded positions.
  • Business & Industry. Deliver on-company-site classes in management, customer service, effective supervision, business communications, and federal regulations/safety standards. Prefer experience and certification in Achieve Global.
  • Computer Instructor. Information Security Systems: Requires a vast knowledge about information security systems and the IT industry. Degree in information systems, teaching experience and at least 4 years experience in the IT industry preferred.
  • Continuing Education Instructors. Develop and instruct non-credit classes in the following areas: Child care provider workshops, arts & crafts, career development, Suzuki violin, health & fitness, home & hobby, youth classes and personal development.
  • Elderhostel. Our Elderhostel program entertains and serves hundred’s of people from across the United States each year. We are in search of instructors to present lectures on an as needed basis. Topics are Lewis and Clark, Mark Twain, Civil War, Katy Trail, St. Louis/St. Charles heritage, music, fine arts, forensics, culture, history, natural resources and much more.
  • Spanish Instructors. Train workers in industrial settings in occupational Spanish curriculum. Fluency required with Spanish instructional experience and experience in industrial setting. May be asked to translate training materials from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.
  • Technical Trainers. Backgrounds in electronics, shop math, and blue print reading.

SUPPORT STAFF:

Floor Care Specialist (100% FTE – Regular; Hours: Mon-Fri 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m.)
