Duties: Deliver academic advising services to students on a walk-in basis. Assist students with usage of Internet resources and degree audit program. Make referrals of students to appropriate College and community resources, as appropriate.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education, behavioral or social sciences or related field. Math, writing, effective communication and computer skills are essential. College experience is preferred.

Development & Foundation Relations Manager (100% FTE – Regular)

Duties: Assist the Executive Director for Foundation & Alumni Relations with management of the college foundation’s development and communication initiatives. Manage and increase annual donor portfolio. Lead all aspects of planning and implementing the Foundation’s two special events. Project coordinator and lead writer of the Foundation’s two newsletters, Web site and social media site. Responsible for continued growth of the Employee Sponsored Program (ESP).
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, non-profit management, or a related field from four-year college or university and 3 or more years experience in fundraising, marketing and/or communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven success in generating donations, working with volunteers, event planning and writing/producing marketing materials. Donor management system skills a plus (Raisers Edge 7 preferred). Experience with program development and budget development/monitoring.

Infrastructure Cable Technician (50% FTE – Regular; Hours: 8 a.m.- noon, Monday- Friday hours are flexible)

Duties: Troubleshoot and maintain all low voltage copper wiring for the network and analog circuits.
Qualifications: Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Also should have a high degree of familiarity of EIA/TIA 658B standard for unshielded twisted pair (UTP) for cat 5e and 6 wiring, familiarity with telephony and Tip/Ring wiring, and knowledge of BCSI standards.

Reference Librarian (100% FTE – Regular; must be willing to work evenings and Saturdays)

Duties: Provide reference service and library bibliographic instruction, participate in collection development and create instructional materials in print and electronic format.
Qualifications: Master’s of Library Science from an ALA accredited institution is required. Also requires knowledge of and experience with print and electronic information sources and the ability to instruct users, strong public service orientation, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in providing reference and instruction in an academic library setting and web development preferred.

FACULTY: Fall 2010 (Full-time)

The full-time teaching load is 15 credit hours in fall and spring semesters. Professional responsibilities include curriculum development, assessment, committee participation, and college service. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction. Community college teaching experience is preferred.

Computer Science

Primary responsibilities involve teaching courses on developing and editing Web sites, CD/DVDs, educational multimedia, video, 3D animation, and image software. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required, Master’s degree preferred. Should also have a working knowledge in most of the following programs: 3D Animation, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Flash, JavaScript , XML, HTML, scripting languages (e.g., ASP, PHP, Python).

Education

Primary responsibilities involve teaching a variety of professional Education courses for transfer to four-year institutions, coordinate SCC Education Program, represent SCC in the professional teacher-preparation community, and manage program accountability to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Master’s degree, preferably in Education, and K-12 teaching experience required. Administrative experience is also required.

Associate Degree Nursing

Responsibilities include classroom teaching, laboratory and clinical courses. Requires a Master’s degree in nursing and undisciplined MO RN license. Must have strong pediatrics experience and med/surg experience.

Primary responsibilities involve teaching composition courses, including developmental writing and the college-level writing sequence. Requires a Master's degree in English or a related field.

Arts and Humanities
(Adjunct Faculty)

Includes art, graphic art, English, literature, foreign language, speech/communication, theatre, music, philosophy, and developmental reading.

Duties: Teach up to 6 credit hours per semester in one of the above subjects.
Qualifications: Most positions require a Master's degree in related field or a Master's degree and at least 18 graduate hours in related field. Some positions may require a Bachelor's degree only.

CURRENTLY NEED:

  • English Instructors. English instructors are needed to teach all levels of composition. Instructors will be needed to teach day-time classes. Master's degree in English required, and community college teaching experience is preferred.
  • Private Music Lesson Instructor. All instruments needed.
  • Art Instructors. Studio artists and art historians are needed.

Business and Social Science (Adjunct Faculty)

Includes accounting, business/marketing/management, economics, computer science, business administrative systems, history, political science, geography, criminal justice, sociology, anthropology, human services, psychology, education, microcomputer repair and child care.

CORPORATE AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

GED (AEL) Instructors – (40% FTE)

Duties: Coordinate course offerings and provide instruction covering various subjects in non-credit and other outreach programs.

  • Business & Industry. Deliver on-company-site classes in management, customer service, effective supervision, business communications and federal regulations/safety standards. Prefer experience and certification in Achieve Global.
  • Continuing Education Instructors. Develop and instruct non-credit classes in the following areas: Child care provider workshops, arts & crafts, career development, Suzuki violin, health & fitness, home & hobby, youth classes and personal development.
  • Exploritas. Our Exploritas program entertains and serves hundreds of people from across the United States each year. We are in search of instructors to present lectures on an as needed basis. Topics are Lewis and Clark, Mark Twain, Civil War, Katy Trail, St. Louis/St. Charles heritage, music, fine arts, forensics, culture, history, natural resources and much more.
  • Technical Trainers. Backgrounds in electronics, shop math and blue print reading.

SUPPORT STAFF

Library Assistant (40% FTE – Regular; Hours: 10 hours per week (one day, one evening) and one Saturday per month)

Duties: Assist patrons; perform circulation duties and other public service functions.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; must possess excellent communication skills and basic computer skills including word processing. Experience with Innovative Interfaces Inc. Millennium software is preferred.

Public Safety Officer (100% FTE –Hours: Tues – Sat; midnight – 8 a.m., Must be will to work all shifts and weekends)

Duties: Monitor campus buildings and grounds. Duties include touring campus buildings and facilities to monitor security, safety related hazards, and violations; lock and unlock campus buildings; check fire alarms, burglar alarms and video equipment; maintain log and summary information reports; provide assistance, information, and directions to students, visitors, and employees; and assist in the event of an emergency or natural disaster. Public Safety Officers will operate a College vehicle when necessary.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in security or a security-related position are preferred. Must have or be able to obtain a St. Charles County Security License. Valid Class A, B, C or E driver’s license required. Must have acceptable driving record. Occasional overtime is required.
