Duties: The dean is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the division including the English/Literature Department, and the Music, Theater, Art, Graphic Design, Philosophy, Foreign Language, Reading, and Communication Programs. The dean will facilitate the delivery and assessment of transfer and career-technical programs within the division in order to meet the teaching excellence and student learning objectives of the college, while establishing and maintaining business, civic, and educational partnerships.
Qualifications: A qualified applicant will possess a Master's degree and successful administrative leadership experience in higher education. College teaching experience is preferred.

PROFESSIONAL & TECHNICAL

Grant Writer (50% FTE, hours vary)

Instructional Designer (100% FTE – Regular; 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday )

Duties: Work with faculty members to ensure instructional outcomes are supported as emerging technologies and new media are added to instruction (e.g., digital design, production of DVDs, web-based and print graphics, streaming video, and course design for the WebCT/Blackboard learning management systems).
Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent, in instructional design, instructional technology or higher education curriculum and previous experience.

FACULTY: Fall 2009 (Full-time)

The full-time teaching load is 15 credit hours in fall and spring semesters. Professional responsibilities include curriculum development, assessment, committee participation, and college service. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction. Community college teaching experience is preferred.

CURRENTLY NEED:

  • English Instructors. English instructors are needed to teach all levels of composition. Instructors will be needed to teach day-time classes. Master's degree in English required, and community college teaching experience is preferred.
  • ESL Instructors. Instructors needed to teach English as a second language. Master’s degree required.
  • Private Music Lesson Instructor. All instruments needed.
  • Art Instructors. Studio artists and art historians are needed.

Business and Social Science (Adjunct Faculty)

Includes accounting, business/marketing/management, economics, computer science, business administrative systems, history, political science, geography, criminal justice, sociology, anthropology, human services, psychology, education, microcomputer repair, and child care.

  • Political Science Instructors. Requires a Master’s degree in political science.
  • Accounting Instructors. Instructors needed for both day and evening classes.
  • Java Programming Instructor. Topics include JSP, servlets, Java Server Pages, cookies, sessions, NetBeans, JDBC, Eclipse, and Java Swing. Class meets 7-9:50 p.m. Thursdays
  • Psychology Instructors. Day time instructors are needed to teach Introduction to Psychology, starting in August 2009. A Master’s degree in Psychology is required. Counseling degrees will not be considered.
  • Cisco Networking Academy Instructor. CCNA or higher certification required. Minimum five years of work experience in IT. Bachelors degree or higher required. Teaching experience is desired..
  • Anthropology Instructor. Day time instructor needed to teach Anthropology and Archeology courses Tueday’s and Thursday’s for the Fall Semester.

Math, Science, and Health (Adjunct Faculty)

Includes math, biology, physical science, CAD/CAM, chemistry, environmental science, engineering, nursing, practical nursing, health information technology, occupational therapy, medical transcription, health, and physical education.

CORPORATE AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

GED (AEL) Instructors (40% FTE)

Duties: Assist adult learners in preparing to pass the GED tests.

Duties: Coordinate course offerings and provide instruction covering various subjects in non-credit and other outreach programs.

  • AEL. Bowling Green – Substitute instructors to work on an as needed basis at Northeast Correctional Center in the education department. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and AEL certification or Missouri teacher’s certification are needed. Adult education experience preferred. These are externally funded positions.
  • Business & Industry. Deliver on-company-site classes in management, customer service, effective supervision, business communications, and federal regulations/safety standards. Prefer experience and certification in Achieve Global.
  • Continuing Education Instructors. Develop and instruct non-credit classes in the following areas: Child care provider workshops, arts & crafts, career development, Suzuki violin, health & fitness, home & hobby, youth classes, and personal development.
  • Elderhostel. Our Elderhostel program entertains and serves hundreds of people from across the United States each year. We are in search of instructors to present lectures on an as needed basis. Topics are Lewis and Clark, Mark Twain, Civil War, Katy Trail, St. Louis/St. Charles heritage, music, fine arts, forensics, culture, history, natural resources, and much more.
  • Technical Trainers. Backgrounds in electronics, shop math, and blue print reading.

SUPPORT STAFF

Public Safety Officer/Dispatcher (40% FTE – Regular; Hours:
8 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays )

Duties: The Public Safety Officer/Dispatcher is responsible for answering the DPS dispatch phone and emergency phones; and will dispatch DPS Officers on calls for service. This position will write incident reports, handle the text message notification, and will respond to emergency situations. The Public Safety Officer/Dispatcher will monitor buildings and parking; monitor fire and burglar alarms; and video equipment.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in security or a security-related position. Must have or be able to obtain a St. Charles County Security License. Valid Class A, B, C or E driver’s license required. Must have acceptable driving record. Occasional overtime is required.

Office Assistant (50% FTE – Regular; Hours: 8 a.m.-Noon Monday-Friday)

Duties: Assists in the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate activities that advance all areas of children’s development and learning, including social, emotional, intellectual, and physical competence. Ensures the individual needs of each child are met with dignity and respect. Follows all the policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the Child Development Center.
Qualifications: High school graduate required, college or professional training in child care or child development preferred. Minimum two years previous experience preferred working in child care/child development and/or working with pre-school age children. Must meet DFS qualifications. Must be at least eighteen years of age.
