Afternoon of Art and Wine to Benefit SCC Scholarships;

SCC Foundation Awards More Than $19,000
in Scholarships for Fall 2008

The St. Charles Community College Foundation awarded $19,800 in scholarship funds for the fall 2008 semester.  Many types of scholarships were awarded – some with a general G.P.A. requirement, some for students in a particular field of study, and others based on financial need. more

SCC Announces New Spring Scholarships

The St. Charles Community College Foundation has announced five new scholarships available to students who plan to attend classes at SCC in the spring 2009 semester.

  • James F. Ronkoski Criminal Justice Scholarship – $500 for a student planning to pursue a career in criminal justice.
  • Dennis Hollrah, Architect, Computer-Aided Drafting Scholarship – $500 for a student pursuing architecture, drafting, engineering or other careers for which computer-aided drafting would be important.
  • Cottleville/Weldon Spring Chamber of Commerce Scholarship – $500 for students who live or work in Cottleville or Weldon Spring.
  • Jo Anne Rocklage Memorial Scholarship – $500 for a student majoring in the humanities.
  • Harvester Kiwanis Club Scholarship – $250 for a student majoring in early childhood or elementary education. more

SCC Foundation Board Adds Two New Members;
Elects 2008-09 Officers

The St. Charles Community College Foundation added two new members and elected 2008-09 officers for its board of directors at its annual meeting in June.

New SCC Foundation board members are Seth Peimann, administrator for NHC St. Charles, and Mark Baker, vice president of Warrenton Oil/Fast Lane. more

Zonta International Establishes Scholarship With SCC Foundation to Assist Women in Furthering Education

The St. Charles chapter of Zonta International has established a scholarship with the St. Charles Community College Foundation. The scholarship will provide financial assistance to female students pursuing education later in their lives.

"Zonta International is dedicated to advancing the status of women worldwide,” said president Brenda Fraser. “This scholarship fits perfectly because SCC has students from around the world who need help to pursue their dreams of completing college.” more

ESPW Establishes Scholarship With SCC Foundation

The St. Charles Chapter of ESPW (Encouraging, Supporting, and Promoting Women) has established a scholarship with the St. Charles Community College Foundation.  This award is intended to benefit female students who need financial resources to help them complete their college education. more

Scholarship applications for the fall 2008 semester at St. Charles Community College are now available. The wide variety of scholarships provides students multiple options for requesting financial assistance from the college. more

For College Foundation

Grace Harmon Recognized for a Lifetime Of Compassion, Commitment, and Service

The St. Charles Community College Foundation PEAR Award Scholarship Dinner on Feb. 23 at Whitmoor Country Club in St. Charles raised $60,445 for scholarships and academic programs of excellence while recognizing the achievements of civic leader Grace Harmon. The proceeds this year set a fundraising record for the Foundation’s annual gala event. more

New SSM St. Joseph Friends Scholarship
To Benefit Nursing Students

The Friends of SSM St. Joseph Auxiliary recently established a new nursing scholarship for students in the second year of the associate’s degree nursing program at St. Charles Community College (SCC).  The scholarship will award $1,000 for the fall semester, funded by the Friends of SSM St. Joseph Auxiliary, and the SCC Foundation will match this amount for the following spring semester, as long as the student maintains the required grade point average.  more
