Institutional Area of Satisfaction Assessment
Student Opinion Survey
SCC participated in the AACC-ACT 'Faces of the Future' survey in Fall
1999. This was the predecessor to the Student Opinion Survey.
Since Spring 2000, and each term since, students from randomly selected
classes are surveyed to ascertain their opinions about their academic
experience and the services they use at SCC. Students are asked
to evaluate the services and their academic experience at SCC.
Information gathered from the surveys then becomes a satellite data set
of STACS. Beginning with Spring 2002, the Student Opinion Survey
will be rotated biannually with the CCSSE Survey (described below).
Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE)
In Spring 2002, a new form of student satisfaction was used; the CCSSE
. This survey is used in place of the Student Opinion Survey biannually
in the spring term. CCSSE is a national survey tool, which provides
SCC with valuable benchmark data in addition to gathering the opinions
of our students. To learn more about CCSSE follow the link to the CCSSE homepage.
180-Day Career-Technical Survey
This survey is conducted by our Student Services Division. The
survey is taken as a DESE requirement. The graduates surveyed will
be expanded to include AA and AS graduates in addition to the current
AAS graduates. A couple of questions were added to the 180-day
Report that asks the student to evaluate the services and their academic
experience at SCC. Information gathered will become a satellite
data set of STACS. To see a copy of the 2002-2003 180-Day Graduate Follow-up
Survey, click this link 180-Day.
Graduate Survey and Non-Graduate Transfer
Survey
This survey asks recent SCC Associate of Art degree recipients about
their educational experience and their level of satisfaction with the
SCC college services they utilized while at SCC. The survey also asks
where the student has transferred since leaving SCC. To see a copy of
the 2004 survey questions, choose either of these links; Graduate or Non-Graduate.
