The Corporate & Community Development Department is seeking a full-time Program Specialist. Job duties include: organize, plan, coordinate and acquire necessary teachers, funds and supplies to run programs in order to provide a good educational experiences for all ages. Contact educational institutions, community historical societies and local businesses to organize programs to be offered that will meet needs and interests of students and community, and benefit the college and local community. Develop and implement curriculums of interest for programs. Prepare budget and determine allocation of funds for staff, supplies and equipment, and facilities. Analyze data from questionnaires, interviews, and group discussions to evaluate curriculums, teaching methods, and community participation in educational and other programs. Primary focus will include, but not be limited to off-site locations.
Direct preparation of publicity and marketing activities to promote programs and events, to include marketing and oversight of annual marketing plan and social media marketing.
Directly supervises various part-time employees in programs, to include oversight of programs at off-campus locations, such as the summer camp program at the Nursing and Allied Health Center. Responsibilities would include providing a safe environment for children attending camp at off-site locations, to include handling disciplinary and safety issues. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of teaching techniques, marketing and implementation strategies.
