At this time, the College invites applications for a full-time Learning Specialist to provide professional educational assistance to students in need of supplemental instruction and guidance in the area of contemporary mathematics, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and calculus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Tutor students in all levels of mathematics from whole number operations to statistics and calculus. Tutoring occurs both in one-on-one and in group settings within the on-campus learning center.
Other responsibilities include assisting students with study skill strategies, preparing handouts, and supporting peer tutors.
Responsibilities include designing and facilitating workshops and exam review sessions, updating web resources, securing/designing learning resources, and assisting students with study skill strategies.
Plans special projects, workshops, and presentations; prepares various handouts; presents workshops and seminars to students, faculty and other groups. Reviews, evaluates, and organizes new materials for ACE Tutoring Center use.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics. Master’s degree preferred. Two years of teaching experience required. Candidate must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, and knowledge in various educational / instructional software.
