Education majors (K-12)
Do one lesson plan that addresses any of the objectives that we cover in lab. The units that we cover in lab are, metric system, scientific method, cell structure, chemistry of cell, diffusion and osmosis, enzymes, cell division (mitosis), photosynthesis, Mendelian genetics, human genetics, DNA, evolution, fossils and geological time periods, and Hardy- Weinberg.
Include in your report, grade level, objectives with reference to Missouri Science Show-Me standards and AAAS standards. Include in the objectives if the lesson plan is observational and or experimental.
State the estimated time to complete the project, materials needed, and procedures in a logical sequential sequence. Time consuming steps should be indicated, as well as logical stoping places. Also indicate what steps need to be done by the teacher. Be sure to use metric system in all instructions. Questions answered by the exercise, and hypothesis when appropriate should be included. Stress concepts not vocabulary in your lesson plans.

A lesson plan can be a field trip. Available to this area are the Busch Wildlife area, St. Louis Zoo, Saint Louis Botanical Gardens, the Butterfly house, Science Center, Magic House –Saint Louis Children museum. Check out the teachers resources at the web sites. Include activities planned and objectives, remember that you can not do all of the botanical garden or science center all it one day!
