final exam will be comprehensive and similar in form to semester tests.
Quizzes will be short and announced ahead of time. Since the lowest
semester test grade and quiz will be dropped, no make-ups will be allowed.
Assignments: Periodically students will be required to do some outside
reading or research and either
answer questions or report back to class. Points will be
awarded as above for completing these
assignments. No late work will be accepted.
Term Paper: A short term paper will be required. Due dates may
be found in the course schedule.
Details for this paper will be distributed in class. No
late work will be accepted.
Attendance: Students are expected to attend all lectures. Excessive
absence will affect grades.
Since assignments are handed out in class, a missed class means
a missed assignment.
Attendance will be taken.
Keys to Success: 1) Prepare for class by reading the assigned
text material, doing assignments and getting
to work on term papers early. This is the most important
way to succeed.
2) Review your notes frequently, not just before the test.
Put knowledge in long term, not short
term memory!! 3) Ask questions in class or make use
of my office hours. Get help when you
need it. I am happy to help or just get to know you.
